Getting there

It's a fair drive so expect it to take a few hours to get to Hull. As with so many trips, leave Luton on the M1 Northbound.

  • Leave the M1 when you get to the M18
  • You then need to take the M62 (which turns into the A63)
  • Go under the magnificent Humber bridge
  • You will find the park and ride if turn off on the next junction (signposted 'infimary')

From here we suggest you pay the £1 fare (unless prices have changed since last season) and get the bus to the stadium as it's the best thing to do. However, limited parking spaces are around the stadium.

Where to eat & drink

Unfortunately, because of trouble in the past, more pubs around the ground are for home fans only so a £2.50 pint is possibly the best you'll get - inside the ground. You could, however try walking to the city centre. The "Sandringham" near the station is recommended as being the nicest in the city.

There's also a great chip shop which is a must if you want to eat in Hull, go overthe railway line bridge and into an estate and from there just ask a local for directions. Apparently it's a fantastic chippy if you can find it!

Hull City - Saturday 17th September 12:45pm

KC Stadium, East Yorkshire

Match preview

An early start as we head North to Humberside for this early kick-off. The reason for the kick-off time is of course because it's live on Sky television, so firstly credit to fans who actually make the trip. All Hatters who are travelling up will be hoping it's worth it, after last season's crushing defeat up at The KC, all will be hoping for more luck this time around. Despite the early kick-off many will feel it's worth the trip simply because it's such a fantastic stadium, and one that I certainly will go to every time we play there. It's unique for sure, but we're hoping for a little bit more than site seeing this time around. Hooliganism was, unfortunately, happened after the match last season, but this time many more police should be on guard. It should be a cracking atmosphere and plenty of banter between the fans again would be great.

Mike Newell will be looking for his side to beat the side who came runners up to his side last May at the top of League One, and all fans will accept nothing less than a win from this battle of the two promoted sides from last season. Desptie having been promoted, both have had promising starts to their campaign and will hope to continue this trend as we move into mid September. Although the match is on the box and kicks off early, hopefully they'll be a good number of awayday Hatters - breaking the 1,000 barrier again will be good.
