Leicester City 0-2 Luton Town
Match Report
A fantastic day at the office, and according to Mike Newell we didn't even perform that well. To come to a place like The Walkers Stadium, not play that well, and go away happy with three points, as Luton Town, is something else. For us however, it's starting to take on the role as normality! In my opinion, we did play well and it was yet another great performance from the lads.
It all started borningly enough, as until midway through the first half, chances hardly appeared and the atmosphere was all but dead. This is when the Leicester fans started having something to say though, and our first chance had come and gone as a strong Curtis Davies header was saved by Douglas. Despite having had little to worry either 'keeper, suddenly, from an overhit Morgan corner, Feeney headed the ball into the box from the left hand side and Brkovic connected, in what is fast becoming a trademark position, with an overhead kick. It flew into the top left hand corner and over 2,000 awayday Hatters went mad.

The goal was the main, pretty much the only talking point, of the first half.
*Half-time Leicester City 0-1 Luton Town
During the second half, both sides had a couple more chances than in the first, but it was still quite an even encounter. Leicester did get on top after the break, with an early defelected Dion Dublin header causing Beresford a problem in the Town goal. It was Luton though, with just under twenty minutes remaining, who could and should have sealed the win, a nice touch back from Enoch Shwounmi, one on one with the 'keeper, goalscorer Ahmet Brkovic calmly passed the ball into the City 'keeper's hands.
As the final whistle approached, the hosts had two glorious chances to get back on level terms. Firstly, Beresford made a fanstastic finger tip save to deny Leicester, and then, down to more luck than judement, Luton survived as Dion Dublin's shot in the 89th minute, struck the inside of the post, and to the relief of all the travelling fans, rolled across the line and went away - a moment of 'phews' all round.
Stoppage time saw Enoch pulled down in the box and Kevin Nicholls to hammer home a penalty to prevent 94th minute awayday nerves. A fantastic way to finish this brilliant victory!
