Fans/atmosphere

Very cold and so the atmosphere was none too surprisingly dull. However, a great turnout from the hosts but only 800 or so awayday Luton

Nothing too special on a late January evening

Journey - 9/10 Nice and easy up the M1
Programme - 8/10…. well it’s a book with some pictures and stats on sheff wed so it aint bad!
Match itself - 6/10 Not the best of games, first half betta than 2nd(although
Luton fans will disagree) they must be pleased with the win over the massive Sheffield Wednesday!
Performance (SWFC) - 5/10 Poor second half! Didn’t know how to even think how to score by the looks of it! (if you understand that)
Performance (
Luton) - 6/10 Champions…pfff! Two good breaks two goals! simple as!

Hatters' star Man – Vine (7/10) was a bit of an idiot on the pitch IMVVHO but looks like he can score goals!
SWFC’s star man- Hills- only on the pitch for a while (sums the game up really)

Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Luton Town

Match Report

A very disappointing, frustrating, cold, freezing and chilly night for the owls, but opposite for the visitors, who I know had a smile on there “pikey” faces as they travelled back down the M1. Wednesday must have been slightly disappointed at half time to not be at least 1-0 up!

Marucs Tudgay was very unlucky not double his SWFC goal tally after two decent chances to put the owls in front. The new signing headed over from a decent cross from John Hills (who later had to be subbed after a hamstring injury). He later shot wide to the Ex Wednesday Keeper Marlon Beresford’s left. Luton failed to create any decent chances in the first half and became frustrated.

In the second half I expected us to come out and really take the game to Luton but we failed to do so and were hit by Pompey reject Rowan Vine’s pace, which lead to him being “tripped” by wood in the penalty area! The ref JUMPED at the chance to point to the spot and the penalty was powered past Lucas in goal! Nothing fell for the owls, and if it did it was ruled out for offside or for a foul (whatever he and she could think of) and inevitably vine scored what looked to be a decent strike to finish the game and put the owls under more unwanted pressure going into the game at Millwall on Saturday!

Good luck for the rest of the season (I suppose I have to say that to be nice)

Up The Owls!
Cheers Steve
