Getting there

Car:

  • South on M1
  • Leave at Junction 5
  • Follow the other 2,000 fans and 15 odd coaches...or alternitively...
  • Take the A4008
  • By pass the roundabout and carry on under the railway bridge before taking the second exit straight on
  • A4145 and turn left at the T-Junction
  • Move onto Fearnley Street and get into the left hand-lane
  • WFC up the street on the left

Town centre parking only. Remove all colours from your car, obviously being in Watford, as a Luton fan!

Train:

St Albans on Thameslink then back out. Bear in mind Sunday service and having to hang around in Watford with colours so probably if you can't drive, to book a ticket on the Town on Tour coaches, which depart from Luton railway station at 10:15am

Where to eat & drink

Town centre not only to park but also to eat and drink. It is a midday kick-off though so drinking will simply be soft drinks, because of the clubs deciding against a 5:15 Sky kick-off time and instead a Sunday lunchtime one. Hmm, ridiculous?

Anyway, Wetherspoon's on the High Street. The Red Lion is bound to be heavily policed, even if it won't be open, opposite the ground!

Watford - Sunday 9th April 12:00pm

Vicarage Road, Hertfordshire

Match preview

What can one, let alone just me, say? The biggest match of the season, certainly since we met the affectionately known 'scum' in January, when they cheated/dived their way to a sickening 2-1 away win at Kenilworth Road.

With Underwood's broken arm, and Heikennen and Coyne continually pulling up during matches, it is touch and go as to who will line Luton's back four. What is certain though, it will need a big game from Marlon Beresford and the soul of our team, Davis, to perform because when they want to, Watford can score a few goals. Watford, sadly, have no new injury worries and Luton fans will hope Spring starts this time, and give him some abuse.

A match coming a week before Easter, it is the last significant game of the season for the town. Unfortunately, Watford's season is very much alive and kicking, although thanks to two defeats on the spin, it seems they will have to settle for a play-off spot come the end of the month.

The boys know how much this means to every one of the 2,318 away fans travelling down the M1, it's up to them not to disappoint us. Again. If we can guarantee Watford a place outside the top two, then Easter will be a very happy time for all the Hatters fans.
